These duets have been excerpted from PEOPLE OF NOTE, a twenty-nine-movement work of duets, quartets, and ensembles for solo singers, orchestra, and optional chorus by Jan Bach. Because the work performed in its entirety would run well over an hour and a half, Dr. Bach has chosen this unique method of distributing the work's duets to those singers and instrumentalists who might be interested in performing them.
Each duet includes an instrumental performer (woodwind, brass, timpani, harp, or piano) and a singer (soprano, alto, tenor, or bass) who sings the Laurence McKinney poem which describes, in humorous terms, the
